Outlander Season 5 RELEASED, starring Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, and Graham McTavish in the new season.

The historical television drama, Outlander, has not only been confirmed for season 5 but also for season 6 together. The historical romance fantasy show, based on Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series has become an instant hit upon its release. It features Caitriona Balfe as Claire Beauchamp Randall/Fraser and Sam Heughan as James “Jamie” MacKenzie Fraser in the leading role.

Outlander is the creation of Ronald D. Moore and premieres weekly in the US Network Starz. It is also available in the Amazon Prime Video and Netflix for streaming. The show features women time travelling from 1945 to 1743s Scotland. She also gets entangled with the politics of that time and warrior Jamie Fraser. Production and Release Date: Outlander Season 5

Outlander has been running since 2014 and initially came on August 9 of 2014. Since then, it has released five seasons with 67 episodes. The official announcement regarding renewal for season 5 and 6 came in 2018 even before the arrival of season 4. However, there was a delay in the premiering from its autumn slot to a much later date.

Season 5 premiered from February 16 to May 10 of 2020. This season has the lowest number of episodes out of all the seasons, consisting of 12 episodes. Filming and development for season 5 began in April of 2019 in Scotland. Shooting primarily took place in North Carolina, including areas such as Milne Woods in Bridge of Allan, Kinloch Rannoch (for Craigh na Dun), Dunkeld in Perthshire, Thomas Coats Memorial Baptist Church in Paisley, The Hermitage.

The Fiery Cross novel of Diana Gabaldon is the basis of the plotline for season 5. It takes place in the 17th century with the American Revolutionary War on the way. Some battles and fights happen in season in the aftermath of which Jamie is left devastated. Claire and Jamie stay with each other despite everything.

Fan Theories: Outlander Season 5

Fans have speculated many theories for season 5. There were hints that the season would see a change in the relationship of Claire and Jamie or they might run off together to the U.S. or also pulled apart. Assumptions were also there about Brianna losing both her parents.

Reception: Outlander Season 5

Season 5 has an average view of 0.81 million. It got a score of 73 out of 100 in Metacritic and has a rating of 7.53/10 in Rotten Tomatoes. Also, the show is getting renewal due to its favourable views and good reception.
