Crash Bandicoot is a franchise of platformer games originally developed by famous Naughty Dog games studios as an exclusive for Sony PlayStation console. This was the first big break for Naughty dog, who is now famous for their Uncharted franchise of action-adventure platformer games. While other platformers were trying to be big and open-world to use 3d capabilities Crash Bandicoot had us running through a corridor of the consoles for those of us who are not old enough to remember the original games we all see it and even get to play it in one section of Uncharted 4 with Nathan and Elena as an Easter Egg. This series has been getting a lot of love lately as Activision has released multiple remakes and remasters of classic games in the form of N. Sane trilogy which remakes the first 3 games of the franchise as well as Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled. Now, we’ll try to know more about Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, and here is a breakdown.
Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time Release Date
The game was released on October 2, 2020, on Xbox One and Playstation 4 but it’s still unknown whether the game will remain a console exclusive or come to PC or Nintendo Switch. Fans are expecting an upgraded version of Crash 4 to come to next-generation consoles, but it has still not been confirmed by the developers. There’s also good news for those who do not want to invest in a full-priced game without trying as there is a free demo available right now to download. At the time of release, the game is priced at full $60 which is understandable as the game is being seen as a sort of tribute for the franchise and sets up new story and characters for the series.
Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time Characters
Although the game is being seen as a soft reboot, the cast is still comprised of returning characters from the old game. Some of them have been redesigned for the modern era. The company has faced mixed reactions to the modification of characters such as Cortex and Coco. Gameplay changes include 4 new masks Kupuna-Wa, Ika-Ika, Lani-Loli, and Akano, with their own unique abilities which the player will be able to switch between. Crash the Bandicoot is still the main character and has that same personality which he has had throughout the years.
Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time Fans Reaction
The best things which fans also appreciate about the developers is that they have left the retro feel of the game intact. The players love the maker’s efforts to keep the classic elements the game intact while adding several new things to the Crash Bandicoot 4. When the new continuation of classic games are announced, fans tend to get nervous as companies change the feel of the game and it loses the Nostalgia factor. That’s not the case here as even linear level design is intact along with new engaging Boss fights. Moreover, players can play the whole campaign as Crash or Coco.
