Retired rapper, Logic, spends a whooping $26,000 in acquiring the rare Charizard Pokémon card

Pokemon has been part of one of the most successful franchise ever. The series has gained accomplishment in the field of anime, video game, and even card games. The Pokemon series has never failed to amaze its fans. Subsequently, Pokemon is a topic that closely integrates with our childhoods and remains in our hearts as a nostalgic memory. As such, many fans are willing to spend thousands of money to acquire any merchandise of the series chain. Such is also the case with former rapper, Logic.

About: Logic

Logic is a professional rapper, songwriter and record producer of American origin. He also worked as a streamer as well as an author. In the field of rapping, Logic managed to publicise six studio albums. Critics also nominated him for the Grammy Awards two times. His fans and colleagues granted Logic several nicknames which include Young Sinatra and Bobby Tarantino. 


Although Logic commenced his career back in 2010, he achieved conventional popularity, not before 2017. Additionally, Logic released a book, Supermarket, in 2019, as a genuine author. Nevertheless, in July 2020, Logic officially declared the news of his retirement from the role of a rapper. Now, he works as a streamer only.

Early Life: Logic

Logic, originally named Robert Bryson Hall II, was born to parents Robert Bryson Hall, an African-American native of Maryland and a white mother, on January 22, 1990. He grew up in the city of Rockville, in Maryland, in the United States of America. He also has seven half-siblings. Logic suffered from a distressful childhood wherein his father was a victim of cocaine addiction, and his mother agonised over her alcoholism. These experiences made Logic gain knowledge of how to manufacture cocaine. Logic could, however, never complete his education as the school expelled him when he was in the tenth grade.


Career: Logic

Logic’s career in music initiated in 2010 with the release of Young, Broke & Infamousa mixtape. Logic garnered fame through his mixtape series, Young Sinatra. The third iteration of the series, Young Sinatra: Welcome to Forever, released in 2013, helped Logic acquire a contract with Def Jam Recordings. Under Pressure of 2014 and The Incredible True Story of 2015, the first two studio albums managed to rank on the U.S.Billboard 200 within the top five, securing the ‘gold’ labelling. Logic’s actual popularity arrived with the distribution of Everybody in 2017, a top ten hit song internationally. The commercial mixtape series, Bobby Tarantino, is also a work of Logic. The fourth and fifth albums gained commercial success as well. Finally, in July 2020, Logic retired after releasing his final album, No Pressure.


Acquiring a Pokemon Card: Logic

Logic spent a ridiculous amount of money to acquire a rare Pokemon card on October 9, 2020. The card is a highly rare, first edition card of Charizard, a Pokemon character. What makes the card rare id the shadowless feature of it, that is, the generic shadow on the right half is absent. The prices of these trading cards have insanely spiked over the last decade. Nevertheless, Logic spent an incredible $26k for the card, breaking the Nintendo collectables record by more than $50k.
