Halle Berry and Wesley Snipes’ relationship
Halle and Wesley met when they worked together on Spike Lee’s 1991 production, ‘Jungle Fever’. The two were said to be in a short term relationship in the early 90’s post their movie. Statements made by many known figures in the film industry indicated that the relationship was very heavily traumatic for Berry and often left her depressed. Though neither actors have ever confirmed their relationship, it is still widely believed that they dated for a short amount of time.
The Allegation and truth
Halle Berry told a magazine in a 1996 interview that she was physically abused in a previous relationship. Around this time, Berry was married to Baseball player up till 1997. Because Berry refused to say any name, many speculations were made if he had been the abuser. He vehemently denied the accusation, declaring on Twitter in a now-deleted tweet that it was ‘WS’ who hit her.
The beatings left her 80% deaf in one ear and thus has enraged many fans, rightfully so. Even though Berry has not commented or confirmed who her abuser was, fans widely believe that is was Snipes. In 2020 when he appeared at an award function, fans opposed his presence and the social media erupted in anger towards the man.
It is hard to say anything with complete confidence, since Berry has never named an abuser, only sharing the horrific things she had live through and how she has risen above the trauma. But the fact remains that Snipes is under scrutiny and entirely possible to have been the one to cause Berry a long time injury which continues to affect her even today.
