Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is one of the biggest and most popular film franchises. With 23 movies released and many still in production, the craze of MCU has only increased with time. With many movies lined up for the future, the latest one to create a buzz was a behind-the-scenes TikTok video from the sets of Thor: Love and Thunder the fourth movie of the series Thor.
Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)
The announcement of Phase four movies set to be released in the years 2021 to 2023 by Marvel Studios has shown a ray of hope to their fans all over the world that the coming years won’t be as bad as 2020 after all. One such movie in the order is the fourth sequel of Thor, the American superhero from the Marvel comics. Thor is played by the very handsome Chris Hemsworth and is the only avenger to have its solo fourth film.
The first three in the series were; Thor (2011), Thor: The Dark World (2013), and Thor: Ragnarok (2017). Directed by the comedic genius and the upbeat director from New Zealand, Taika Waititi this fourth sequel would follow a really interesting plot. The story shows Thor from being the God of Thunder to the Unworthy Thor due to his inability to lift Mjolnir while Jane Foster played by really talented Natalie Portman takes up his place.
Mjolnir returns: the viral TikTok video from behind the scenes
We all have seen at the end of Avengers: Endgame(2019) Captain America takes the mighty hammer of Thor, the Mjolnir, and takes it back to the timeline it came from. While the hammer here was brought via time travel from the past, Hela, the Asgardian Goddess of death and Thor’s sister had already destroyed the Mjolnir in Thor: Ragnarok. While fans were still pondering over the fact that how does Jane Foster lifts the Mjolnir if it doesn’t exist anymore?; the powerful weapon makes an appearance in the now-deleted TikTok video.
Bobby Holland Hanton, the stunt double to Chris Hemsworth posted a TikTok video where he’s seen wielding the hammer while performing a stunt. The video was most likely shot in Australia, where Hanton is training for the film. In the video, he can be seen leaping near a stunt mattress flexing Mjolnir and is supported through ropes for the high jumps. The video was soon deleted but it did raise the anticipation of Odinson’s return.
The Mjolnir appearance and fan theories
As soon as the video hit the internet, it made the fans go bonkers, and soon enough the social media was filled with theories about Thor’s reunion with his hammer. Some believe that Mjolnir has only returned for the flashback scenes very likely between Thor and Gorr the God-butcher(to be played by Christian Bale) or Jane Foster. Another possibility involves the repairment of Mjolnir, while it is pretty tough to achieve that without Odin’s enchantments now but it may happen Eitri, the last Dwarf of Nidavellir forge it again like the people of his race did. Others think that Mjolnir would return from time travel again though it seems pretty unlikely to repeat the same stuff as Endgame. One of the many intriguing theories includes the return of Mjolnir from a different dimension involving Loki and connecting it with the plot of the Loki TV web series set to release on Disney Plus.
Well as it seems we aren’t getting out of the suspense until the film is released next year, but till then any behind-the-scenes video or update is enough to keep us all exhilarated.
