There is a high chance that Apple could release a new version of the MacBook this year. This transition is fueled by the fact that Apple is slowly shifting its chipset. The official news is short, and thus we have had to heavily rely on reports from others. But noted investigator Ming-Chi Kuo has come forward with a few details about the upcoming device which has left many MacBook users excited as well as curious. From the change in the chipset to additional features being added to the MacBook, here’s all that we know so far.
Release Date: MacBook Pro
The exact release date of the MacBook Pro is still up in the air. What we do know is the fact that we can expect two new version of MacBook pro and those models will come out with some new fancy features. If rumours are to be believed, then we can count on these MacBook models to release sometime in the latter half of 2021. Kuo noticed and suggested these changes in January of this year. As of now, with a still lack of a clear date and even a month, we can perhaps expect a post-July release for these new two models.
Features: MacBook Pro
MacBook Pro, two models rumoured to release will come with their own sets of designs. The first notable thing to look at is their sizes. Experts are expecting a 14-inch and a 16-inch screen. Taking inspiration from the previous models of Apple, especially the iPhone 12 and iPad pro, chances are that the MacBook will be flat-edged.
The other important bit to keep in mind is that Apple has already started transitioning from the tradition intel chipset. In the upcoming models, it is entirely possible that we will see variants of the Apple M1 chipset. We could also see the rumoured M1X processor. These new Apple Silicon chipsets will surely power the device and hopefully ensure a smooth transitioning.
As for the features, rumours have it that the new MacBook will have a Mini-LED backlight display. the producer of this would probably be Ruiyi Optoelectronics.
The one feature that could be removed is the touch panel. They might be replaced by actual functional keys in the new variants of the MacBook Pro. There would be an addition of an SD card reader as well as an HDMI port. Kuo has suggested that Apple might just get rid of the USB Type-C charging portal and instead add a MagSafe Charging connector.
Prices: MacBook Pro
While we do have a bulk of information about the expected features, there has been no official confirmation from Apple itself. While they have hinted in the past about releasing new materials, an official announcement for the new variants of MacBook Pro is yet to come out. In such a case, the prices are not available to us. Even predicted prices are currently missing from the data file. To get an idea of what these two new MacBook with advanced chipsets and changed features could cost, users will have to wait for the official announcement from Apple.
