Soul Eater is an action-oriented shounen anime that was directed by Takuya Igarashi. The second season of the series has been awaited by fans for years. Will they finally be getting what they have wished for? Read below to find out the answer you seek as well as all the details about the impending season of Soul Eater.
Soul Eater: Release Date of Season 2
Soul Eater premiered its first season on April 7, 2008, and after releasing a total of fifty-one episodes concluded the season on March 30, 2009. The first season of Soul Eater followed the story material of the mange volume only halfway through the season as the Japanese manga series which is illustrated and written by Atsushi Ōkubo. Due to this the anime rendition was pushed to take its own path after releasing nearly 30-35 episodes. The results however were effective in the short run but turned out to be detrimental in the long run.
Back then, the series producer Bones Studio made the wise decision to develop an original story after they have completed the anecdotes in the manga volume which was a surprise for the fans since the anime series which are an adaption of the mangas don’t usually do that. Therefore, after all these years, season two of Soul Eater hasn’t been made yet mainly because the anime version concluded their season with a completely different path than the manga series was headed up to. If the makers decide to continue with the original plot in the anime show, it could be one of the most precarious moves made by them since it could lead to the demise of the series. For now, there hasn’t been any announcement regarding the sequel of the shounen but it looks pretty clear that there won’t be the following season for Soul Eater.
On a positive note, Soul Eater could get a reboot in the future since notable anime Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball Z have been getting a sort of remake of their original shows. Nevertheless, it’s only a belief since been almost a decade since the series premiered their first season, so the fans of the series might have trickled down a bit. But never say never, since it’s possible that Bones Studio could decide to give another shot to the remake of Soul Eater which will be more loyal to the story’s manga saga than the first one.
Those who want to watch the English dub version of Soul Eater’s first season can find it on streaming platforms such as Funimation, Netflix, and Amazon Prime.
Soul Eater: Cast and Characters for Season 2
- Maka Albarn: Maka Albarn is Soul’s Meister, but unlike him, she is more of a thinker than a fighter. Her combat style mainly focuses on observing the weakness of her opponents rather than taking off in a full-out offensive technique.
- Soul Eater Evans: Soul Eater Evans is Maka’s Scythe partner and is also often referred to as the only Soul by his friends. Like any other teenager Soul mainly tries maintaining a cool persona all the time and in his mission to act as cool, he most of the time ends up embarrassing himself.
- Black Star: Black is one of the two survivors of the Star Clan and can be identified by the tattoo of a huge star on his right shoulder.
- Death The Kid: Kid is the son of the Shinigami who rules the academy and is often shunned by his classmates because they believe that he will hurt them. However, as the series progresses his character has evolved as he understands the significance of relationships.
