In Another World with My Smartphone
Patora Fuyuhara’s light novel series In Another World with My Smartphone is written and illustrated by Eiji Usatsuka. It started serialization in 2013 on the user-generated novel publishing website Shsetsuka ni Nar before being acquired by Hobby Japan for publication as a Light Novel in print. Since February 2017, J-Novel Club has licensed the series for an English release, publishing each novel in six weekly installments.
In November 2016, a manga adaptation by Soto began serialization in Kadokawa Shoten’s Comp Ace. Yen Press has the English rights to the manga. From July to September 2017, Production Reed aired an anime television series adaptation. Crunchyroll has acquired the rights to the anime series. On the Shsetsuka ni Nar website, the series has received a lot of attention, with over 100 million views.
Season 2 of Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni is still awaited by all diehard fans. It’s a great example of what the Isekai genre has evolved into these days. It may not be a famous or well-liked show, particularly since it contributes to the Isekai anime stigma. Nonetheless, for others, this anime has become a guilty pleasure.
In Another World with My Smartphone: Season 2?
The first season premiered on July 11th, 2017. Production Reed was the studio that brought it to life. The English dub was provided by Funimation. Season 2 has yet to be verified, which is unfortunate. There has been no response from the author or the studio.
In order for an anime to receive a second season, it must be successful, as anime is, after all, a company. The light novel was well-received on the internet, but the anime received some harsh criticism. Season 1 was hurried, with some story and character creation being skipped. At the moment, it has a good MAL score of 6.51.
People are split on whether or not this show will be renewed for a second season. They ended Season 1 on a cliffhanger, giving the impression that there would be a second season, but this may just be a ruse to get people to read the light novel. Back in 2018, some speculated that it will happen. It’s now 2020, but other anime had to wait longer for their seasons, and my smartphone is still young in another country.
Expectation from In Another World with My Smartphone: Season 2
They approach anime in a very different way than light novels and web novels. Light novel adaptations are notorious for leaving things out. As a result, no one knows how Season 2 will proceed. They’ve already announced all nine girls who will marry Touma in the end, so expect a lot of plot skipping in Season 2 to get them all.
The following season will also necessitate a larger budget. There’s more insane stuff going on, as well as some cool scenes. For the first season, the budget was relatively poor. They could not go for it because they need more money for the second season.
Many references to the phrase were made, and the frame was filled with robots, which fans are looking forward to seeing in Season 2. The web novel is pretty insane with all the details while the light novel simplifies it a bit. The anime takes it a step further to create a fun and humorous adventure for the audience to enjoy. We see Ende in the final scene, which serves as a strong lead-in to the next story arc.
