The production house has released a couple of teasers before the release of the second season of the Hospital Playlist. The second season is believed to emphasize more on the personal lives of the doctors rather than their job profile. While the director of the series, Shin Won-ho recently claimed that the second season of the series will consist of simple and everyday stories like the previous seasons. But in this season there will be a deeper dive into the characters and their life making the story warm and deep.
Season one of the series demonstrated a heart grasping end. While the Ik- Jun confesses his romantic feelings to Song-Hwa. Later then he flies to Spain for a symposium. He asks Song-Hwa to think about the proposal and gives him her consent once he returns from the trip. In the upcoming season, we will see more twists in this relationship story of both doctors.
While there can be another expected storyline. It can depict a love triangle between Seok-Hyeon, his colleague Chu Min-Ha and his ex-wife Yoo Sin-here. As we have seen in the final scenes of the last episode that Seok declines to meet Min-Ha for a dinner. The upcoming season will contrast more on the story of Seok with both women.

In the first season of the series, we have seen the major issues in the lives of the characters. The stars who played some main characters are:
- Jo Jung-suk played the role of Lee Ik-jun. He is an assistant professor of general surgery.
- Yoo Yeon-Seok depicted the character Ahn Jeong-won, an assistant professor of pediatric surgery.
- Jung Kyung-ho acted as Kim Jun-wan. Kim serves as an associate professor of cardiothoracic surgery.

The South Korean TV Channel tvN announced the release of the second season of the series on 17 June. While Netflix is also all set to stream the series from 17 June. The second series is expected to consist of a total of 12 episodes.
