The epic historical drama, Vikings from History ended after a run of six seasons. The fans of the series were not ready for the show to end just yet, but as promised they are getting a spin-off series. Vikings: Valhalla Season 1 seems to enter the post-production phase soon. Michael Hirst is returning as the creator and one of the executive producers from the previous parent series.
Recently, we got a little sneak-peek of Vikings: Valhalla. Netflix’s teaser made fans more anxious about the plot, but to our utter dismay it reveals nothing about the plot or what will we see. Here is all we know about it till now.
Release Date: Vikings: Valhalla Season 1
The filming of the series started in October 2020 but was halted for a bit due to false COVID-19 positive reports. We got a sneak peek at Vikings: Valhalla through the behind-the-scenes tweet by Netflix Geeked on 7 June 2021. Unlike the parent series, Vikings: Valhalla Season 1 will air on Netflix and not on History. The release date for Vikings: Valhalla Season 1 is still not out yet. It feels like Netflix hasn’t set up a date for the series release.

The spin-off takes up from a century after the events of the Vikings. We will follow some great Vikings of the time at the time when the Vikings era was about to end. While England is standing against them, there are three claimants of the English throne. Leif Erikson, a family man with troubled relations with his father proves himself by successfully crossing the North Atlantic with Greenlanders.
Moreover, his half-sister, Freydis Eiriksdottir becomes the leader of an Old Norse Religion after being brutally sexually assaulted by some Christian Vikings. She also becomes anti-Christian and ventures out to look for a new shelter for her people. At last, Freydis’s love interest Torsen will become a part of King Harald Hardrada’s battalion. Torsen being a royal Christian Viking joins the battalion that got assembles to avenge the massacre. All these will be the main storylines for the spin-off.
While we are looking forward to an official teaser or trailer of Vikings: Valhalla Season 1, we have some other things to look forward to as well. Amazon Prime’s The Family Man series made a huge impact on fans through its second season. Looking at how the fans are demanding, The Family Man Season 3 will be there for sure.
