Synopsis: The Seventh Day
The Seventh Day is a horror movie that got released on March 26, 2021. The plotline of the whole scary movie is based on the theme of demonic possession and exorcism. The movie features Guy Pearce as Father Peter Costello. Vadhir Derbez in the role of Father Daniel Garcia. and Keith David as Father Louis.
The movie starts with a flashback in 1995 where Father Louis along with Father Peter. is summoned to help a girl from the demonic possession. However, things do not go as the two exorcist priests thought. The possessed evil power was very much powerful to be handled by the two priests. At the end of the flashback, we see that Father Louis gets stabbed with the crucifix. on his throat and he dies on the spot.
After 25 years, Father Peter Costello has become one of the most renowned exorcist priests. He has been appointed to look after a young and naive exorcist priest Father Daniel Garcia. Father Peter thinks that Father Daniel is still new and needs to learn the secret vocation of exorcism. Thus, from here begins the duo’s adventure in the world of demonic possession and exorcism.
The Seventh Day: Ending Explained
The duo of two exorcist priests team up to obstruct the evil that has possessed a young boy, Charlie. The boy went on a rampage and killed his whole family. and then, everyone presents in the police station. Somehow, they both manage to control the demon spirit inside the boy. And after that, they moved towards his home with the possessed boy. Later, Father Peter leaves everything on Father Daniel to control. and exercise exorcism on the possessed Charlie. However, Father Daniel realizes in the meantime that it is not Charlie, who’s possessed. But all this time, it was Father Peter!
Soon, after the realization, Father Daniel starts performing an exorcism on Father Peter. During the counter-attack by the devil from Father Peter’s body, Father Daniel stabs him to save himself. Although, there was nothing abnormal. And it was shown that Father Daniel somehow, managed to resist the devil from possessing him. But does that mean the evil spirit has been defeated?

In the end, it was shown that Father Daniel comes to know that. Father Peter during the 1995 event got possed with the evil spirit. He also realizes that in the course of this whole 25 years, Father Peter being himself possessed. by the evil power had also possed all the recruiter who has worked under him. that means, the devil has created an entire chain of possessed priests. The evil spirit is still out there in the body of exorcist priests. And it was now on Father Daniel to kill them all or perform an exorcism to defeat the evil power.
