Filming will begin next year on ‘Paddington 3’
The big-screen version of Michael Bond’s creation, Paddington Bear, is arguably one of the funniest, heartwarming and most loveable franchises we’ve seen in recent years.
As for Paddington 2, its sequel has already taken over $30 million in the United Kingdom. The first film raked in almost $270 million at the global box office. Paddington 3 is a go, and a script has been written, and production has begun on the third installment. StudioCanal announced the plans while Paddington 2 was still in production.
What’s the cast of Paddington 3 be like?
Ben Whishaw’s iconic performance would not be complete without Sally Hawkins, Hugh Bonneville, Julie Walters, Madeleine Harris, and Samuel Joslin’s portrayals of the Brown family members.
The fact that Whishaw is voicing Paddington in the animated TV series makes it unlikely that he won’t appear in the third film as well.
How soon can we expect Paddington 3 to be released?
He told Digital Spy in Nov 2017 that talks about locations, ideas, and scenes around Paddington 3 had begun, though the script hadn’t been written.
Even though the official announcement for what happens in the third movie confirmed that the story is being developed for the Paddington TV series, we’ve already seen the Paddington TV series before the third movie.
According to Ben Whishaw, he is not as sure if a third film will take place as Heyman, who told us in May 2018: “That requires a tremendous amount of work so I am not sure if or when the third film will be made.”
As to those concerns, Heyman stated in November 2018 that a script was still being written, however, it appears that Paul King won’t return for the third movie.
Originally, Paul King had confirmed he would not be directing the third installment. “You have to stop at some point,” he said. Perhaps it is time for someone else to take a different look at it. There’s no way I’m doing a third bear movie, which would be a mistake on a monumental scale.”
