Bridgerton Season 2 Production Comes To A Halt As Crew Members Test Positive For COVID-19

Last year, when Bridgerton hit Netflix, it was quick to take the OTT platform by storm. The popular period drama series became one of the most-watched series of all time, with more than 80 million households watching it. Moreover, the Shonda Rhimes produced Bridgerton recently, bagged 12 nominations in the Emmy awards. Well! the period drama series is one of the best shows out there and obviously it’s a fan favorite.

With so much success on its way, the show was all geared up to come back with season 2. However, it seems that Bridgerton is having lots of turbulence for its renewed second season. At first, actor Regé-Jean Page who played Duke of Hastings walked off from the Bridgerton season 2 (heartbreak and sobs). Bridgerton Season 2 production shut down after a confirmed Corona positive case in the crew:

Well, there’s no doubt that Corona is influencing the production and filming of many shows and series in one way or other. Recently, the filming of Bridgerton was put to a pause amid the raging Corona pandemic. On Thursday, it was reported that one of Bridgerton’s crew members had a positive corona report after the test. As soon as the positive case among the crew was confirmed, the show was quick to pause the shooting. The decision was taken in favor of the well-being of actors and the whole production. The crew member whose reports were positive was immediately sent to quarantine himself.

The insiders from the set also recounted the nightmare that follows such a situation among the crew and staff of their shows. Well, it’s a matter of time that we will know. The first season of Bridgerton dropped in December last year with a total of 10 episodes. The show was quick to get a green light from the OTT platform,  after its record-breaking popularity. Bridgerton remained in Netflix’s top 10 positions for weeks in many countries. Moreover, the fan-favorite show also bagged 12 Emmy nominations this year including Outstanding Drama Series,  Outstanding Character Voice-Over, etc… Regé-Jean Page also got nominated as an Outstanding Lead Actor in Drama Series for his role as Simon Bassett, Duke of Hastings.

Well, Bridgerton Season 2 will focus more on the love story of Anthony Bridgerton, Daphne’s older brother. If the pace of shooting remains un abrupted then we can expect Bridgerton Season 2 by the mid of next year,2022.
