The “Savage” musician pulled off chic French styling in an at-home moment that started with a beret this week. The musician continued to stick to monochrome throughout his outfit, choosing a structured black tank top and matching split-tone pants.
Megan Thee Stallion, whose real name is Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, is an American rapper and songwriter. Her first exposure to fame came from videos of her freestyling on social media platforms like Instagram. She hails from Houston, Texas. Megan Thee Stallion signed to 300 Entertainment in 2018 and has since released the mixtape Fever (2019), the extended play Suga (2020), as well as her debut studio album Good News (2020), all of which reached the Billboard 200 Top 10.
She reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart with both her single “Savage (Remix)” featuring Beyoncé, as well as Cardi B’s single “WAP”, both released in 2020, with the latter becoming her first number one elsewhere. She has received numerous accolades over the course of her career, including a Billboard Women in Music Award, six BET Awards, five BET Hip Hop Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards, and three Grammy Awards.
In 1999, it was Lauryn Hill’s fifth Grammy Award for Best New Artist that she won (the first one being in 1999). As part of their annual list of the world’s 100 most influential people, Time magazine named her one of them in 2020. The all-black outfit for Thee Stallion came to a seamless end with a classy pair of black booties; since the boots featured a textured platform design and a block heel, they matched perfectly with the ensemble. Known for their stylish appearance, square-toe shoes returned to the celebrity scene in 2019 and continue to be a big trend into this year. Classic boots, slide sandals, and stiletto heels sit alongside a ’90s-inspired revitalization of fashion, as seen in combat boots, thong toe shoe styles, and pops of neon color in clothing and footwear.
In a new collaboration with Fashion Nova, the “Body” rapper is releasing tomorrow, only days after her first collaboration with the brand. Musicians often showcase their summer-ready style on social media, and the musician did this in a new bikini to tease the upcoming capsule. Crystal-coated straps and details highlighted the string-style finish on this black swimsuit. Megan Thee Stallion then paired the swim bottoms with coordinating choker necklaces and a pair of patent sandals to elevate the look.
In addition to launching a successful music career, Megan Thee Stallion has signed several high-profile deals with the fashion industry. Her previous work with Puma, promoting its Cali Sport sneaker in November 2019, and Fashion Nova, for spring ’20, has been well received. As well, the “Cry Baby” rapper appeared in Coach’s spring ’21 presentation and Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty summer ’20 campaign. Her most recent project was helping Coach launch its collaboration with A Bathing Ape earlier this week.
