Biz Markie died yesterday, Friday night in Baltimore hospital at 6:25 PM. It was reported that he died after major complications from Type 2 Diabetes. Biz Markie is the legendary rapper and DJ, who is best known for his 1989’s Just a Friend song. This hit song is from Markie’s second album “The Biz Never Sleeps”.
Biz Markie’s manager confirmed the unfortunate and sad news on the demise of the legendary rapper. The adored artist of the music industry passed in the hospital holding his wife, Tara Hall’s hand in the final moments. Moreover, the family and friends were present during the last hour of Biz Markie. The nursing staff of the hospital held up the family of the deceased and told them how bravely the rapper fought his battle with Type 2 diabetes complications throughout.“It is with profound sadness that we announce, this evening, with his wife Tara by his side, Hip Hop pioneer Biz Markie peacefully passed away,” said Izumi.
Jenni Izumi also recalled his lifelong legacy in the music industry during the press statement. She also thanked friends and fans for their support and concern for the rapper. Moreover, Izumi also remembered the late rapper and DJ for his vibrant, joyful, and humorous personality. “We are grateful for the many calls and prayers of support that we have received during this difficult time. Biz created a legacy of artistry that will forever be celebrated by his industry peers and his beloved fans whose lives he was able to touch through music, spanning over 35 years”. Biz Markie was suffering from Diabetes. Although, there has been no report from the sources or hospital on the real cause of his death. However, the artist had been longing battling from Type 2 diabetes. In April 2020, Biz was hospitalized after severe complications resulting from Type 2 diabetes. The rumors of him being in a coma, throughout his hospital stay circulated all around. However, there has been no solid proof of these rumors.
Later, the reports of Markie suffered from a heart stroke surfaced in December 2020. It was also reported that the rapper was in a physical rehabilitation facility. Moreover, the speculations and rumors of his death started taking around during the early months of this year. Later, his representatives squashed all the rumors of his death then. Biz Markie died at 57 on 16th July 2021.

His debut album Goin’ Off came out in 1987. However, the hip-hop musician got global recognization after his song “Just a Friend” (1987) from his second album “The Biz Never Sleeps” came out.
