How many seasons of Kung Fu are available?
Kung Fu, starring Olivia Liang, only has one season with thirteen episodes, currently available on CW. This predominantly Asian-American-led show was announced on May 12, 2020, and shooting for the first season began on October 16, 2020, and concluded on April 27, 2021. The first season has an approval rating of 86% on Rotten Tomatoes, and the shooting was done in Langley, British Columbia. The first season aired from April 7, 2021, to July 14, 2021. The first episode, titled Pilots, was the most popular with over 2 million views. Kung Fu is based on the original show (with the same name) that aired from October 14, 1972, to April 26, 1975. Kwai Chang Caine portrayed by David Carradine was the main lead.
The series will return to The CW in season 2
Given the popularity of the show combined with the positive response it received from both, the critics and the fans second season was a given. The networks generally take anywhere between 3 to 6 months to releases updates on subsequent seasons, especially when it’s a new series. But given the impressive response, the show received upon its release, it was renewed just four episodes had aired on the network. On May 3, 2021, the renewal for the second installment was announced.

Even though the renewal of the series was announced a couple of months ago, CW has yet to release an official release date for Kung Fu season 2. The network recently released its schedule for the following quarter and contrary to everyone’s expectations Kung Fu Season 2 was not included in it. But the fans can rejoice as the show has already been renewed for a second season, and it will be back, after the first quarter of 2022 at the very earliest.
