Another tragic news awaits fans of electronic music. Famous experimental musician and a legend in the field of electronic music Peter Rehberg passes away at the age of 53. Rehberg was the founder of the Editions Mego which has delivered several hit music since its involvement.
Founder of the French Label INA-GRM, François Bonnet shared this tragic news with fans through his social media account. He was a longtime friend of Peter. Several other stars also posted several tweets and posts which paid tribute to one of the renowned artists of the music industry.
Peter’s Efficient Work For His Label Editions Mego
Peter’s Editions Mego has also collaborated with Bonnet’s INA-GRM for several releases. They both have worked together for the recollection and merger of the GRM and Portraits GRM series. He worked on several kinds of music and their new inventions and thus had an enlightened career throughout his life.
Rehberg started his journey in the music industry from the golden era of the mid-90s. At his early times when he was a newcomer in this field, he collaborated with several star artists and musicians of that time. He has worked with Fennesz, Jim O’Rourke, Oren Ambarchi, and several other stars.
Peter always respected his relationship with the artists who helped in his early times. He maintained a close relationship with all of them also when he was at the peak of his career. In the year of 1995, he joined Ramon Bauer and Andreas Pieper in their Austrian label Mego. The trio worked together very hard and took the label to new heights in the music industry of that time.
Peter has contributed a lot to the experimental music industry. He also released several albums when he was working under the label Mego. He became a celebrity for his albums such as 1996’s Seven Tons For Free and 1999’s Get Out. For his contribution to the upliftment of Digital Music, Peter received the Prix Ars Electronica Distinction Award in 1999.

In the year 2006, the Mego turned into Editions Mego. While Peter Rehberg emerged as the sole founder of this highly successful label. After the Editions Mego was formed in the year 2006, it has created and registered several new sub-labels from the past 15 years. Most of the successful sub-labels of the Editions Mego include Spectrum Spools, Recollection GRM, Sensate Focus, and Stephen O’Malley’s Ideologic Organ.
Apart from these interesting and highly interesting sub-labels, Peter continued to create several new inventions and experimental music. He worked on several collaborative and creative projects that also took the consent of several newcomers such as Keith Fullerton Whitman, Stephen O’Malley, Oneohtrix Point Never, Emeralds, Mika Vainio, Klara Lewis, and Caterina Barbieri.
