When is Amphibia coming out?
Disney announced Amphibia’s release date on the special panel discussion at [email protected] The creators confirmed that Amphibia’s season 3 will be premiering on Saturday, October 2nd at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST). You can watch the show on the Disney Channel or DisneyNOW. Can we say that our Fall just got way much better?
What is the third season about?
The third season will pick up where the second season left off through its post-credits scene earlier this year in spring. Couldn’t watch the finale? Don’t worry, we have got you. In season 3, we will see our 13-year-old Thai-American protagonist Anne Boonchuy continuing her adventures with the frog family but this time with a huge twist. In the finale, we saw Plantars and Anne get to Anne’s home, Los Angeles.
As Disney describes the third season, it will be set in a premise where Anne and our beloved frog family are transported to Los Angeles. Now, the frog family must navigate through the challenges their lives in Los Angeles brings them, try to keep their identity a secret for as long as possible, and find a way back to their homes.
As a bonus, we will also see a Christmas special episode. What’s special about this episode? This 22-minute episode will feature a song written by Rebecca Sugar of Steven Universe (screams in a corner).
Who can be cast in the third season?
We will most definitely see the return of lead stars Brenda Song (who plays Anne), Justin Felbinger as Sprig Plantar (Anne’s best friend in Amphibia), This Is Us star Amanda Leighton as Polly (the chaotic and youngest tadpole of the family), and the legendary Bill Farmer, who is also known for voicing Goofy, as Hop-Pop (a traditional and overprotective grandpa).
Apart from these fan-favorites, we will also see a huge list of guest stars including Archie Yates of Jojo Rabbit, Jason Writer of Gravity Falls, Whoopi Goldberg of The View, Melissa Villasenor of Saturday Night Live, Wallace Shawn of Young Sheldon, Dana Davis of Craig Of The Creek, Kate Micucci of DuckTales, Wayne Knight of Seinfield, RuPaul Charles of RuPaul’s drag race, Anika Noni Rose of The Princess and The Frog, and Brad Garrett of Everybody Loves Raymond.
