What is the plot of Queen Sugar?
The show Queen Sugar narrates the story of the Bordelon siblings in Louisiana who are distant and on difficult terms with each other. The three siblings are Ralph Angel Bordelon who is a former convict and is seeking redemption and forgiveness from his family, Nova Bordelon who is a journalist and an activist and the oldest of all the siblings, and Charley Bordelon West who is the manager of an NBA player, who also happened to be her husband.
The family is plagued with a tragedy that forces the siblings to come together. They have to put their differences aside after the sudden death of their father and the unexpected inheritance of an 800-acre sugar cane farm. Nova is a bold and unapologetic journalist based in New Orleans. Charley, who had a career based in Los Angeles, has recently divorced her husband. Ralph is struggling with unemployment and being a single parent, trying to overcome the challenges of raising his son alone. The story is set in rural Louisiana. Charley moves here to run the farm with her teenage son Micah, after divorcing her husband following the news of a scandalous affair he was involved with.

Who will be cast in the sixth season?
We will see the return of our series regulars Kofi Siriboe as Ralph, Rutina Wesley as Nova, Dawn-Lyen Gardner as Charley, Bianca Lawson as Darla, Nicholas L. Ashe as Micah, Tina Lifford as Violet, Omar Dorsey as Hollywood, Ethan Hutchison as Blue, Henry G. Sanders as Prosper, Timon Kyle Durrett as Davis, and Greg Vaughan as Calvin.
We will also see the addition of a few new recurrent characters in the series except one new regular character. Tammy Townsend will join the cast as a series regular to play Billie. Billie is a character who is often talked about but no one has seen her. She will come back to town after 20 years to take care of her ailing father.
What will be the season 6 plot?
Season 6 will explore new beginnings and fundamental changes in the characters’ lives. We will see Charley giving Davis another chance, Blue will be going to school in Washington D.C., and Calvin will surrender himself for the role he played in the police brutality case, jeopardizing his and Nova’s relationship. Good news will knock on the door of Ralph and Darla as they are expecting a child together.
