The showrunner and executive producer of the soap opera “The Young And Restless”, Tony Morina, has been accused of sexually harassing an actress and making advances at her. The actress Briana Thomas alleges that Morina repeatedly made advances towards her and physically harassed her.

CBS Studios and Sony TV have been sued by actress Briana Thomas for the case of sexual harassment by the showrunner and executive producer of the show “The Young And Restless“, Tony Morina. In her statement, she accused Morina of passing comments at her and of offering her an acting lesson in “private”. She of course paid no heed to him and filed a report against him which was later followed by a lawsuit. The lawsuit was filed on a Thursday.
Briana’s Statement
After filing a suit against Sony TV and CBS Studios she opened up about the situation and revealed that Anthony Morina started acting weird after she joined as a background artist for the role of a barista in 2019 and the previous year. She also talked about how Morina would creepily stare at her, he also tried to get really close to her and compliment her style, told her she was “really something” for the show. He also tried to remove her clothes so that he could have a look at her bikini. She confided in her lawsuit complaint and revealed how Morina tried to offer her a “private acting class” as it’s very tough to make it in this industry, that you need someone you know and trust so that you can make it big in this industry.
Impact Of The Lawsuit
Sony TV has been reportedly dealing with a problem of its own as the “Jeopardy” host Mike Richards had made a stereotypical comment which was reportedly misogynistic. The comments were made on a podcast which was later discovered by The Ringer. The attorney of Thomas, Carney Shegerian filed a lawsuit against him for discrimination against a pregnant model when he was in the role of a producer in “The Price Is Right“. There is no definite comment on this by Morina.
Other Complaints Against Morina
Morina was repeatedly trying to make advances at Thomas and harassed her throughout the years 2018 and 2019. He made shameful comments on his female workers by calling them slang in obscene language. He complained how those female workers, whom he harassed, “didn’t know how to welcome a compliment”. There has been a case where Morina passed racist comments at a black woman and said her head looked like a Chia Pet. Thomas also revealed how after forcefully rejecting Morina’s advances, he threatened her and she was scared after that incident. He also asked her private questions like whether she lived alone or with someone.

Morina reportedly yelled at Thomas and called her “an extra” for rejecting his advances. He threw tantrums at her and later fired her for not falling into her trap. There have not been any comments from Sony Pictures Entertainment as well as CBS Studios as of now.
