Overlord Season 4; New Characters TEASED for the Upcoming Season

Introduction

All the fans from all around the world are waiting for the upcoming Overlord season 4 to be aired. The Overlord anime is based on an isekai storyline. The studio behind the production of the anime is Madhouse. The anime is adapted from the light novel of the same name. Kugane Maruyama is the writer of the light novel and the manga illustrator is Hugin Miyama. The storyline takes place in the year 2138 when DMMO-RPGs (Dive Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games) became a real thing. The story follows a player named Momonga. He found himself introduced to a popular game called YGGDRASIL when its servers were blocked off.

Before Jumping into the topic of Overlord Season 4, Let’s have a quick look at what we saw in the previous seasons. As we all know already, the first installment of the anime series Overlord which was adapted from the Light Novel has covered from volume 1 to volume 3. The anime was aired on 7th July of 2015 and after airing 13 episodes, the anime was concluded on 29th September of the same year. In this installment, we have seen that Momonga who is the antagonist of his gaming world has taken on the title of Ainz Ooal Gown which is actually the name of his clan. He expects that some other trapped player will catch his signal. After that, he sets off his journey in the new world. He makes friends and enemies with the NPCs of the game which seems to be real now. After the first installment, the studio Madhouse aired the second installment of the series. Overlord Season 2 was aired from 9th January to 3rd April of the year 2018. This season also consisted of 13 episodes. The second installment covers the next three volumes of the LN. We saw a broad introduction to the world of the game YGGDRASIL in this part. The tribe of Lizardmen and the dwellers of Re-Estize were also introduced in this part. Overlord Season 3 took place from 10th July to 2nd October of the same year. this part adapted volume 7 to volume 9 from the LN.

What To Expect From Overlord Season 4

If you have seen the anime from the very beginning, you should know that anime has followed the Light Novel thoroughly. So, those who have read manga and the light novel already know what is going to happen in Overlord Season 4. We can assume that we will be seeing Ainz dealing with the problems of his kingdom regarding the resources. we might also see him working over the strength of his guild. On the other hand, Albedo might express her true feelings for her master.

Overlord season will also introduce some new characters who will work under Ainz’s command. they will keep Ainz updated about the new developments in his kingdom.

Anticipated Release Date For Overlord Season 4

In a tweet that was made back in May of 2021, it was announced that Madhouse has declared to be releasing season 4 soon along with a movie. If the production works don’t get hampered by the pandemic situation, we can expect Overlord Season 4 to be released in the 4th quarter of 2022 or in early 2023.
