Amber Heard’s screentime in Aquaman 2 drastically reduced to less than 10 minutes after Johnny Depp files Lawsuit

Who hasn’t heard of DC’s extended universe? Well, we all have and there is a huge mass of hardcore fans throughout the globe for the adapted movies and comics. The DC Extended Universe is an American media franchise and shared universe centered on a series of superhero films and television series produced by DC Films and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. Now in 2018, Aquaman, a part of the DC extended universe was released in London on November 26, 2018, and in the United States on December 21, 2018. This movie got almost positive reviews for its plot, graphics, characters, and performance, and eventually, it become one of the hyped movies. This movie’s budget was around $160–200 million while it hit the box office with $1.148 billion. In Aquaman, Jason Momoa is cast as Arthur Curry or Aquaman, and Amber Heard as Mera, Aquaman’s love interest.

It also featured many other popular figures Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm Marius, Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus, and many more. This movie was a massive hit throughout the globe. Warner Bros. had announced that the blockbuster follow-up is currently scheduled to be released on December 16, 2022, and it becomes one of the anticipated movies of 2022 however Aquaman 2 has officially been delayed until 2023. It has been scheduled to be released on 17th March 2023.  Now as we know in Aquaman Amber Heard played Mera, Aquaman’s love interest but due to heated controversy, it was rumored that Amber may be removed from Aquaman 2. However, it wasn’t confirmed back then as it was officially declared she will appear in Aquaman 2. The fans were fairly against Amber for being cast in this most hyped upcoming movie.

All of the controversies started when the former couple Amber Heard and her ex-husband Johnny Depp started to get public attention. Amber had stated that she was being assaulted by her former husband Johnny Depp and eventually this led to the tarnishing of Johnny’s part of the role in his upcoming movie project Fantastic Beasts 3. However, later on, in the investigation, the allegations were proved to be wrong hence proving Amber using false allegations against him. Depp then filed a lawsuit for defamation against Heard. This rages huge anger among the netizens. Fans started to ask to remove Amber from the upcoming movie Aquaman 2: Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Fans started a new hype wave for Emilia Clarke to join as Mera.

A rumor also suggested that Amber may die in Aquaman 2, and then Emilia will surprisingly enter the movie. Thousands and thousands of fans started signing petitions to exclude Amber Heard from the movie. The petition stressed that men are victims of domestic abuse just as women and this must be recognized and action so that abusers won’t be glorified in anyways. After all, that petition and all the new rumors spread across the internet that Amber Heard’s screentime in Aquaman 2 drastically reduced to less than 10 minutes. On Twitter, Grace Randolph tweeted that she has heard Amber Heard will have less than 10 min of screentime in the upcoming movie Aquaman 2: Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. However, there is no official announcement for any of the rumors. There is no surety if it is really reduced to 10 minutes or not after Johnny Depp filed a lawsuit. However we can conclude that fans are surely not happy to see Amber in the movie Aquaman 2.
