According to some official sources which are flying around the towns of Hollywood, there is a replacement for the character James Bond and Tom Hardy, Henry Cavill, Idris Elba, and Jacob Elordi are rumored to be considered for the role. And it is also being said that all are rumored to replace Daniel Craig as the new James Bond.
Daniel Craig who in 2019 announced that ‘No Time to Die’ would be his fifth and final film as international spy James Bond, rumours began on who will play Agent 007 next. However, producer Barbara Broccoli says it will take some time to announce a new name for the film. According to reports, Tom Hardy, Henry Cavill, Idris Elba, and even Euphoria star Jacob Elordi have been considered for the next James Bond role for the franchise.
The franchise producer Barbara Broccoli said earlier that it is going to take some time for the casting of the franchise before Daniel Craig’s replacement is named, and also stated that it’s a very big decision to replace the role of James Bond, which earlier was played by the greatest Daniel Craig.
Broccoli also continued praising the actor, which she’s supported as a producer for all five of his Bond films, from ‘Casino Royale’ in 2006 to ‘No Time to Die’ in 2021. She was also a producer on Craig’s last appearance on stage, in Sam Gold’s 2016 production of Shakespeare’s ‘Othello’ at the New York Theatre Workshop.
With Daniel Craig leaving the franchise and vacating the role of James Bond after his performance in “No Time to Die,” the search to replace him is on, and the production team is working hard for it. But at the same time replacing the iconic James Bond role of actor Daniel Craig would be a little harder for the team.
The casting process is being led by longtime Bond producer Barbara Broccoli, who will be taking the control of replacing the actor with another one. However, according to some reports, Tom Hardy, Henry Cavill, Idris Elba, and Jacob Elordi are taken into consideration regarding the iconic role. But at the same time, it would be interesting for the fans also to see who will be taking the role of James Bond after Daniel Craig.
Many of those names will be familiar to followers of the franchise, as they have all been linked to the role at various times. Idris Elba has been a fan favorite for the role, with fans speculating for years that he could eventually be the first Black James Bond. Earlier this year, Barbara Broccoli also complimented Elba stating that he is a magnificent actor and also said that the casting team will definitely take him into consideration when the time came to replace Daniel Craig for the iconic role. Euphoria star Jacob Elordi is the newest face on that list, and at the age of 24, he would take the franchise to another newer and more dramatic level, which fans would be excited to look at.
While Broccoli and Craig won’t be making any more 007 films together, they are continuing to collaborate on other projects. Craig is currently starring in a Broadway revival of Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” that Broccoli produced, and she was also gushed about the actor’s talented acting skills.
“He has an amazing range and he can do anything,” Broccoli said. “He’s just the greatest actor ever, and I think audiences will be thrilled by his portrayal of the character because he’s funny, he’s dangerous, he’s all the things you would want.”
