13 Reasons Why is a famous Netflix Original drama series that Brian Yorkey creates. Netflix streamed all the Four episodes of the series. The first season of the series was released on Netflix on March 31, 2017. It is based on the novel  Thirteen Reasons Why written by Jay Asher. After the release of season 4, Fans were excited to know the release of season 5, but Netflix acclaimed that season 4 is the ending of the series.

The plot of the Series

The story of the series focuses on a Liberty High school student Clay Jensen and the suicide of Hannah Baker. It shows various issues that are common in high schools. The storylines reflect a beam of light on a comprehensive and extended range of the social problems which prevail in schools.  It tells us in a summarized and concise way how modern youth is affected through suicide, sexual assault, mental health, alcoholism use of steroids. The Series depicts various horrible causes such as police brutality, domestic violence, HIV, abortion in a transparent way.

The storyline of 13 Reasons Why Season 4

The main plotline of Season 4 is based on the secrets surrounding Bryce Walker’s murder. In the previous season,  Alex Standall had killed the rapist, and the late Monty was framed for the crime. Since Monty’s ex Winston had been with Monty on the night of Bryce’s murder, he was the sole person with evidence against the case. However, in the final season, Alex forms a brief romantic relationship with Winston that later has the character decide to keep his lips sealed about Monty once Alex admits to murdering Bryce.

The fourth season also starts on a high note for Justin as he tests for HIV positive, and his death was significant backlash from fans especially since the show did not spend time properly educating its viewers on HIV/AIDS.

Cast of Series

Dylan Minnette acts as Clay Jensen while Katherine Langford plays Hannah Baker. Other cast includes Christian Navarro as Tony Padilla, Alisha Boe working as Jessica Davis.

Brandon Flynn acts as Justin Foley, Miles Heizer plays the role of Alex Standall, Ross Butler depicted Zach Dempsey, and Devin Druid unveiled Tyler Down, Justin Prentice, Amy Hargreaves played the role of Lainie Jensen.

Other actors include Justin Prentice, Derek Luke, Kate Walsh, Brian d’Arcy James, Timothy Granaderos, Grace Saif, Brenda Strong, Mark Pellegrino, Tyler Barnhardt, Deaken Bluman, Jan Luis Castellanos, and Gary Sinise.

At the end of season 4, the characters end their journey at high school. The show doesn’t follow them for their graduation.

On talking on this issue, creator Brian said, “It felt like bringing these characters to their graduation and scattering to their next things felt like the logical ending point. So for a long time, the idea has been, should we be so lucky to have the opportunity, we would do four seasons of this. So certainly going into breaking story for season 4, we knew it was the end,”. He further added that “I’m incredibly proud of our finale episode. I think it’s very special and it’s also supersized finale, so even if people aren’t super happy with the ending, at least they can’t say we were stingy”
