Dallas Private Investigator Daniel Gomez to Release Debut Feature Film Wong Place Wong Time
Daniel Gomez, a Dallas-born private investigator with more than 30 years of experience, is preparing to release his debut independent feature film, Wong Place Wong Time, on June 30, 2026. The buddy-cop action-comedy will be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, Google Play, and YouTube.
Produced by Gomez through his media and production company, DG Productions, the film follows private investigator Detective Gomez and his former partner, Detective Tony Denton, as they reunite to investigate a decades-old case. Their search for answers leads them to uncover a criminal empire and a revenge plot decades in the making. According to information released by the production team, the story culminates in an action-packed showdown featuring humor, martial arts, and buddy-cop comedy.
The film represents Gomez’s first independent feature film release. Best known professionally as a private investigator and former chief detective seen on television, Gomez has spent more than three decades working in the investigative field. He currently leads the team at Gomez Detective Agency, which is headquartered in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
In announcing the film, Gomez said the project incorporates elements related to his professional experience.
“I’ve been a PI for over 30 years, and with this film I’m giving DFW a small taste of what I do every day; some of it fictional, some of it not. But at the end of the day, it’s entertaining!” Gomez said.
Gomez grew up in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas and has remained active in the Dallas-Fort Worth region throughout his career. In addition to operating Gomez Detective Agency, he is the founder of DG Productions, the company responsible for producing Wong Place Wong Time.
Before the film becomes available on streaming platforms, Gomez will host an exclusive Dallas-Fort Worth premiere on June 29, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. at the Angelika Film Center in Dallas. According to the announcement, the event will bring together fans, media representatives, and members of the local community for an advance screening of the film.
Following the premiere, Wong Place Wong Time will be released for streaming on June 30 across Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, Google Play, and YouTube.
The production team has also announced that a second installment is already in development.
